`I never quarreled with my God.’
`But aren’t you concerned about the next world?’
`One world at a time.’"

Henry David Thoreau, Discussion with his aunt on his deathbed
Oh, right. Yes. One thing at a time.
Good reminder. Thanks, Hank.

My Papa
My grandma died today. Sad.

Tough Old Czech Bird (View from the Prague Castle)
I will miss her.
I miss her.
I have missed her.
The last two years, she suffered from dementia, so she hasn’t really be ‘around’, if you get my drift. Last October, her breast cancer came back for the 3rd time. The combo wore her and everyone else out.
My favorite recently re-remembered memory is this:
Once, she was cooking in her kitchen and she called me in and offered me some cookie dough from her mixer!
Homemade Cookie Dough!?!?!
YUM!
…the dough was actually mashed potatoes….
…gross.
She laughed and laughed.
We all know where this whole ride is leading, right?
We knew the deal when we incarnated: In. Then, one day: Out. Like in fashion.
Is it weird that I kind of like the inevitability of death?
In high school, people would cry and cry during closing night of shows. Not me. Never once. I rejoiced! It meant that we were free now to do something else, something new!
I guess I look at death as a just the end of one thing before I go on to the next.
I don’t want to say I’m excited to die, but it seems like death might just be a great adventure!
(Did I steal a life-philosophy from the movie Hook?)
It’s a great adventure that will have to wait until this great adventure has run its course.
As my mom would say, “I can’t die yet, I’ve got too much shit to do.”

Benjamin Franklin
Sometimes I wonder if I am too busy. Have I piled so much onto my plate that I’m going to eventually snap?
Nah.
It’s all progress.
The guy who’s on the the hundred dollar bill is backing me up on this one.
Huh?
Oh.
Yeah.
Well, he’s not dead. He’s sleeping.
